Proprietor and General Manager

            Parveen studied hospitality in Germany and Switzerland via Landesberufschule fuer Hotel and Gastettengewerbe, Villingen-Schenningen, and in Paris at the Diner-Amical Conferie de la Chaine des Rotisseurs. His European experiences include restaurant management roles in Germany's Black Forest,  at Ring Hotels' Zum Roten Baeren in Frieberg, as well as posts as a sommelier at Zum Grossen at Zum Grossen Mayerhof, and as a management trainee for two years at the Hotel Kolpinghaus.

            Before Blacksmiths Bistro, Parveen was also a successful entrepreneur. For three years, he owned and operated his own Italian-themed restaurant in Aurora, called Prego Ristorante (2000-2003). For three years prior, he owned and operated Toronto's casual yet upscale Coco Lezzone. Prior to that, he spent seven years (1990-1997) as a general manager with Darden Restaurants Inc. (The Capital Grill, Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Seasons 52), where he held roles as general manager across the greater Toronto area

Executive Chef

             Chef Rob Yu bolsters a stellar team at Blacksmith’s Bistro with his unique, fresh and innovative cuisine. Hailing from Maple, ON. Rob began his career as a high school intern for Eagles Nest Golf Course from which he acquired integral line and working industry knowledge, whilst excelling in his Culinary management and Cooks Apprentice degrees at Humber college. From there, Chef Yu completed an internship at The Fairmont Bab Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates and varying local terms at Tapagria, Aria Bistro & Lounge, and a tenure as Corporate Executive Sous Chef for Cashew & Clive. Passionate about his craft, Chef Yu finds pure joy in cooking and this is exemplified in his dishes. With exemplary creativity and fresh perspective, Rob is a true asset to the team here at Blacksmiths Bistro. Like proprietor Parveen, he is passionate about his craft and truly embraces the joy of cooking. His talent and pride in the kitchen is exemplified in every dish that he prepares.
